Default dual and triple channel memory?

Trying to figure out what RAM to get. What are dual memory and triple memory architectures ? Is it worth getting a Mobo that supports triple and the RAM to go along with it ? There are so many choices.

As of now, I plan on getting an Intel core i7-2600 along with an ASUS P8P67 PRO mobo(http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS). What would be the best RAM to get for my system ? I want at least 6GB and am willing to spend a little more to get fast RAM. What would you recommend ?

This motherboard is for dual channel ram. If 6gb is your minimum, I would suggest stepping up to an 8gb kit of 2 sticks of ram that are 4gb each, and DDR3 1600.
