Do you really want such a high end rig with such a small monitor? I'd at least go 22" widescreen, IMO. ;)

$149.96 for an 8800GT...http://www.ncixus.com/products/27328/88YFF6HUFEXX/Galaxy%20Technology/
And yesterday this card went as low as $134 for a few hours. I was about to hit the "buy" button...
That's funny...small world as they say.
If you're worried that you hurt your CPU, don't. It's fine. Sounds like you got it all sorted out.
What city? I'm in Bowling Green, KY.
57 is perfectly fine. I'd only start to take action (better cooling) if it was getting above 60-65C.
Saw it too....perfect weather. Next one not for another 2 years.
Seemed to work fine on my PC although I don't have a user and password to login.
My E6750 idled at about 42-43C with the stock cooler (fan not running at 100%). It got to about 62C fully loaded. You'll be fine I think. I would install the OS, download the latest version of...
Strange that speedfan is giving you the wrong temp. I also have a 7900gs and speedfan reads correctly. With the stock cooler it got up to ~75C playing the Crysis demo. All other games resulted in...
Your definately not even close to 254C. The CPU would shut itself down long before that.
48C is nothing. My 6750 gets to 56C everytime I game, which is still acceptable.
Yeah, the longer you wait the better off you'll likely be.
If you want 4GB of RAM, you'll need the 64-bit OS. The 32-bit cannot take advantage of that much.
LOL chunky!
My brother pulled the trigger and bought a Dell Inspiron 530. :( It has a Q6600, but onboard video. He wants to put in a 8800gt. I told him that the PSU that comes in the Dell may not be up for...
Around $130 is a good price.
My brother wants to build a new gaming rig. I need some help with a MB. So far I've got for the important stuff:
Q6600
8800GT or 8800GTS G92
HX520
Corsair PC6400 2x1GB
WD 320GB HDD
Not...
Congrats on the success so far...
Yeah, anything over 60% I don't like. My AF7 actually seems louder than the stock fan if both were running at 100%.
Lost, Family Guy, and anything on the Science channel.
A q-tip could potentially leave cotton on the surface. I prefer a lint-free cloth.
Shyster is right. I can control mine thru the MB using SpeedFan. I felt that the AF7 was too loud. Reduced it to 45% idle and 60% under load and the noise became acceptable.
You can do it. It's not very hard.
Good luck!
FarCry is a really good game.
