You were right, it is the ram, it will boot to the first screen fine with one of the sticks of ram but will not do anything with the other, I thought I tried that, maybe you are just good luck or...

One question why are the new processors rated at a lower speed (2.66 ghz) and the old ones at higher speeds (3.0ghz like in my old dell 8300). Technology just better and they can run faster at slower...
