mobo and ram?
I'm building my own computer and I'm confused a bit about which kind of RAM to get that will be compatible with my mobo.
Currently the mobo I have in mind is the GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128423
It says in the specs that the memory standard is DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800
So my question is, will the mobo only support those memories? Or can it support 1600 also?
I'm looking at CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145222
Would this work?
Or would this be better? CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model

The only difference is that one is DDR3 1333 and the other is DDR3 1600. That and price. So what exactly is the difference between the two and which one would be better?
Thanks

I was wondering the same thing, and google sent me to this discussion on it:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/27...r-1600-support
Following the advice/info from the poster named bilbat, it would seem that without overclocking, the Intel chips don't support memory speeds above 1333. If you try to use memory that is above that, it will reclock the memory to 1333 or below, and you might run into problems.
However, if you do plan on Overclocking and tweaking the memory timings, you can then use the memory at 1600 or even higher.
And in regards to the Gigabyte board, it does support 1600 speeds, but for some reason it doesn't say so on the specs.

So the 1333 and 1600 don't really matter? And it all comes down to Cas latency? In that case would this be better?
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory w/ Blue LEDs Model BL3KIT25664TB1337

Cas latency of 7 instead of 9, which I'm assuming means its faster?
