I am still struggling with newly built 'my supercom'.
This time it is DVD.
When I put a DVD movie, it says " Window Media Player can not play, because a compatible DVD DECORDER IS NOT INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER".

The same DVD disk has no ploblem to play with my 2 year old other computer (Xicomputer) or on HP Laptop computer.

How do I get this 'COMPATIBLE decorder or CODEC' ????
Is that something I can down-load on Internet.
Please help me.;)

MOTHER BOARD is ASUS M2N32 SLI
AMD ATHLON 64X2
dvd is LITE-ON LIGHTSCRIBE 20x
EVGA 640-PS GEFORCE 8800GTS
WINDOWS XP HOME SP-2

You can either download the codec for windows media player from Microsoft...

Or you can download something like DivX player which already has loads of codecs installed when you download it.

I always recommend VLC media player:

This free program plays just about anything. :)

I have VLC, true it will play ANY file type or DVD out there but i don't like its quality, it has limited features.

I would say for Mpeg video files, defo have VLC, but for DVD's get DivX.
