when i asked about an os you replied to me and said this quote above.... so i was wondering if you had tried out vista yet and if so how it is working out??? im still up in the air about xp or vista. i also dont really know what else is out there though.

I am currently using both 64 and 32 bit versions.

Both have run flawlessly so far, no doubt due to better driver support.

Go for it, i doubt you will be disappointed.

I've got Vista 32-bit Ultimate installed now, and although I took about a 50fps hit in games, its still pretty good. Takes ages to shut down though, for some reason. Oh, and I can't have the UAC turned on otherwise it won't let me access one of my HDs. XD

I'm not sure if vista came out with service pack 1 yet, but it seems like it will be better than XP on some things with most of its bugs taken out

The main reason that Vista is better than XP is because it wipes out an entire range of memory exploits that XP was susceptible to by randomising the entire memory space.

This may not make much sense, but it just means that Vista is a lot more secure. :)

It seems that most gamers use either Avast or AVG for virus protection.

I have AVG on my son's desktop, and on my wife's laptop. It is easy to use, easy to update, and was highly recommended.

I don't have virus protection on my gaming pc, but I don't open any attachments from people I don't know, and I don't screw around with websites I'm not familiar with. So stay away from all those porn sites, and you'll be fine. :D

Or just download the porn from reliable torrent sites :D

AVG is one of the best AV out there and its free and its not a system hog like Norton which is rubbish anyway.
