On 1st boot all came up fine at first, but while configuring the BIOS screen went blank and the motherboard sends one long beep. That's graphics card failure, right. So I reset the card and fired it up again. This time it worked until I started to load the OS. Same problem, same solution. Now, since the card works and the mainboard functions, what could be causing this? I have EVGA nforce 650i ultra mainboard and a GeForce 8400GS video card. I have had to reset the graphics card so many times I'm worried about damaging the pins on the card or the socket on the MB. Please help as this is my first attempt at building a pc.
12/29/07. Seems the fault was with the case. As I tightened the screws the card shifted slightly. A little spacer seems to have done the trick.
