Hard Drive partition!

hi,
I was wondering how much should I partition my 500GB hard drive?
I want to make 250GB for myself and 250GB for my family; C drive would be mine and D drive would be my family's

BUT do i need to do something special for installing windows XP Home Edition??

so any suggestions about how to partition this HDD would be very helpful!:)

You can partition as you said, but your drive would have windows installed on it so you would have less space left on yours versus theirs. Just follow the steps Rob has outlined and you will have no problems.

I'm actually going to go with 300GB for myself and 200GB for family :)
