trying to figure out is everything is compatible

i am thinking of buying a computer from cyberpower.com, although it maintains many bad reviews, i think the issue is just that buyers are not checking whether all of the custom parts they choose are compatible with eachother, and therefor , are having problems. if anyone has an opinion on this please reply. also, i would like to find if my system configuration is all compatible and that everything will work out. please confirm.

The parts listed are compatible.

I too have read numerous horror stories about Cyberpower and also Ibuypower. Of course there are many more happy customers than there are mad ones. I have a couple of friends that bought systems from Velocity Micro and they are extremely happy with their products and their customer service. Give them a look before making a final decision.

In regards to the items you've picked, I like the processor and the video card. The rest would not be my choice.

Change the motherboard, to a Gigabyte P35C.

For the memory get Corsair XMS2.

You are better off buying a seperate case and PSU, you need to spend at least $100 on a PSU for this kind of system, the generic PSU that comes with that case will not suffice.

thanks for the tips - i heard the sli chipsets were good but i didnt know the specifics so i just chose their most basic one. also, i know the memory isnt that great, but im not planning on running many programs at once and as for the case, im not trying to get anything special, but what do u recomend.

Do you actually know what SLi and Crossfire is?

Nvidia chipset boards are old, the P35 is an Intel chipset and it is easily the best chipset around, you only need to worry about SLi and Crossfire if you are using two graphics cards.

Trust me dude, change the motherboard to a Gigabyte P35 or an Asus P5KC and don't worry.

For a start Corsair XMS2 is incredibly cheap, plus it is high perfromance memory, made for gaming machines.

The Asus P5KC is about $135, that is the same price as the Asus P5N-E, its one of the best boards out there.
