I have a xps 600 that I would like to update the ram from 1gb to 2 gb. I did a search on crucial.com and found 2gb kit DDR2 PC2-6400 • 4-4-4-12 to be $115 :(
Here is a link to the ram:

Is there any other ram that you guys could recommend that would perform as good but cheaper? I'm looking at putting in new 2gb kit because the 1gb that is used now is like 4200 and I want faster ram.

It's a good rule to go with OCZ or patriot first and last crucial is fine as well as some others, but for me it's OCZ or patriot all the way. Very fast quality memory.

Corsair XMS 2GB is $47 on newegg with the rebate and its probably the best memory available.

OCZ and Patriot are very good but Corsair is in a league of its own.

Thanks for the suggestions :) Jamie could you give me a link to the right ram for my system? I'm not sure which Corsair XMS to use for my system
Thanks for the help

That's excellent ram. I have it in my system. Just remember it requires 2.1 volts.

Only on an Asus P5N-E ;) .

It was required on my IP35 Pro.

If you look at the Newegg link you provided and check the Specifications, it states that it requires 2.1v. So I was going by that.

OOO check that, mine didn't require any volt modding only on my old P5N-E.

Motherboards are pretty iffy when it comes to this memory, but once its all going, its great.
