The demand on the 8800GT is crazy. I bought mine on release day for $269 from xfx, their alpha dog version. Now that version is $309. Limited supplies, plus the holidays, and new technology are never nice to the pocket book.

Just buy one quick dude, newegg are being bastards, they are bumping up the price because they know people want them for christmas and they know people will buy them.

Have to disagree Jonm, the 8800GT could be $400 or even more and it would still be worth it.

This is the first piece of new technology thats has actually been kind to the pocket  ;)

i agree that you get a lot for your money with the 8800GT But it really sucks when they are supposed to be going for $250 and all the retailers are jacking up the prices to make money themselves, above what their normal MSRP.

Yeah it does suck, but at the end of the day what i said still stands, you could pay $400 for one of these babys and it would still be a bargain, they are not bumping up prices solely for themselves, they are trying to deter people from buying them because stock is so limited, the retailers who sell the cards are the first ones to be blamed when things are of stock, no one ever blames the manufacturer which is why they bump up prices, when they become regular in supply they will go back down in price.
