OK I have a download of Direct X 9C

Can I put Direct X 10 on my PC.

I have Windows XP Home, I dont have Vista !

MB - Asus P5KC
GC - GT8800

DirectX 10 is for Vista only.

Hmm, rumours and hearsay at the moment though...

It depends what you are using it for. If, for example, you want to play Crysis on the highest possible settings, these are locked for DirectX 9. However, you can go and edit one of the Crysis system files to unlock the high settings stuff, thus making it practically the same as DirectX 10.

OK 9C it is as I don't fancy going to Vista just yet
