A rig ment for gaming

Hi all,

I would like some help with the building of this, i was mainly wondering if AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor + ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard. Would be a nice base for this rig. I would like it to not get to out of date for awhile since school makes putting out money on upgrades/builds a little tight.

Ok dude, i shall set you on the path to enlightenment :D

The best base for your PC would be Intel, not much price difference but the advantages over AMD are huge.

Intel have better CPU's and much better chipsets available.

The Ram is a nono, go for Corsair XMS, it has a fat rebate on newegg.

The cooler is also a nono, too many problems, building computers is difficult enough to get right without the added hassle of a crappy cooler. If your not overclocking you should stick with the stock cooler, if overclocking get an Arctic freezer pro.

If this Rig is meant for gaming you will need another graphics card, that one is rubbish with a capital R. Go for an 8800GT, if you can't afford that, go for an X1950 Pro with 512MB of Vram.

PSU wise you will need a minimum of 400w form a brand name supplier, my personal recommendation is a Corsair HX520w, a little expensive but one of the best around, if you want cheaper go with Antec or Hiper they are excellent.
