DVD Drive not detected

I don't understand what happened. I have taken the chords off and on again multiple times, and have taken the dvd drive out and in multiple times.

What happened is that the dvd worked at first. I installed Vista using the dvd. I installed some games. Then I went to work, came back and it isn't detected. It spins the disc and opens and closes. It is annoying me. What do you think I should do next?

Try cleaning the DVD lense - you can buy commercial CDs that do the job for a few dollars.
