hi,
(assuming everything is RAID compatible) I just wanted to know if I get a 250Gb hard drive and I eventually run out of room, then could I get another 250Gb HD and the computer will start storing stuff on the new drive when I save? or is there a problem with this scenario?

Assuming you want to use RAID 0 you will have to re-install windows as both harddrives share the data between them.

oh ok, but would it cause any data loss from the original HD if I do this?

Uh, yes.

RAID 0 is when data is simultaneously written accross two or more disks. This makes write times much faster, but also means that if one HD fails, you lose all your data as it is spread accross the two different drives.

You can add another HD for a RAID 1 mirrored array, as the data will just be copied when the array is created.
