On the first boot, I continually get this message:
"Bios rom checksum error
Detecting IDE ATAPI device
Detecting Floppy drive A media
Drive A error. System halt
And it just sits there. Any suggestions?

Shoot, was just about to tell you to remove the battery.
Hmmm, i don't really want to say this but you need to know.
Of all the forums i have just looked at (about 15) regarding threads in accordance to this problem, all of them have suggested a faulty board or corrupt Bios.
Have you tried removing the floppy drive and booting?

No problemo, if i find a solution in the next couple of hours i will post it to save you the trouble of sending the board back, but going by this message and all the responses on forums on the net ect the best bet is to send it back.

well, just to update, it isn't the mother board per say.
I attatched a Floppy drive and wham everything else went smooth as a baby's bottom.
So far so good, doing all the driver updates today and tomorrow but so far so good.

If the MOB erases the bios when you have two sticks of Memory, but works great with just one stick in there, would it be bad Memory stick or bad MOB?

When I stick two memory chips in the MOB, the system gets hung up again wanting a floppy drive. When it is running on just one stick of memory, it boots up to XP with out any problem at all.
