first build

building first computer and was wondering if anything special was needed for a cd/dvd burner with "sata" or dvd/cd rom with sata. also how much faster is it???

It isnt't that much faster, as the throughput is still the same as an IDE drive. It does seem to detect the CD/DVD faster though.

The only real reason for choosing a SATA drive is if you want to keep your case a bit tidier and not have any IDE cables stretching from the bottom to the top. :)
