Hi folks,

I'm looking to upgrade from my old (put reliable) CRT to an LCD monitor. Any recommendations? I really like the glossy LCD screens, and I am partial to the widescreen monitors, too - Any suggestions?

I have two :D

Asus VW192s is a really excellent gaming LCD monitor, its only 19'' but the screen is huge and its widescreen.

Also have another one, Samsung 226BW, 22'' widescreen monitor but it is much more expensive.

The Asus i suggested is awesome as the is Samsung, but i prefer the Asus even though it is slighly smaller.

So, do both of these have the glossy screens, too? So, Jamie, you really like the Asus even though it is an analog monitor (no DVI)? I thought DVI was supposed to be even better resolution, no?

The Samsung has a glossy almost sheen effect on it, the Asus is more slight, but it still looks good, i chose the Asus for my SLi computer as it is a gaming monitor, so yeah it looks good, the colours are clear as crystal, and for the price you can't fault it.

DVI is better quality, but VGA imo is better for gaming systems, i just use an adapter for the GPU, i don't mind that its analog, it still looks great.
