Jaime just wanted to say i really appreciate your knowledge and input on the board..along with all the other people who contribute!!!...I am not a computer expert but i would like to build my first system..I have ordered Rob"s book..but Jamie I would also like to get your input on a system.. I would like a system that can play some games surf.etc.. a system that can do a little of every thing and stay around 1200 or under..Monitor would be extra..Suggestions are welcome from others also.. cpu,mobo,memory etc..

For $1200 you could build a kick ass gaming rig.

E6750
320GB Harddrive

But what sort of games do you want to play? a computer of this spec is major overkill if you just want to play some games and surf the net.

No I am not a big gamer like you are, but i just want that if i throw agame in there from time to time it can handle it..always appreciate your insight jaime...!!!!!

jaime could you give me the link on newegg for the 8800gts..seems to be a few up there>>>I was able to find the other parts from a previous post you did.. what kind of power supply would you reccommend ...would the rosewill tower you recommended before work with motherboard..??

I would still go for the rig i suggested, that little lot i posted comes to about $850 on newegg without taking off the mail in rebate.

You will need to add a case and optical drive as well as a psu, that shouldn't come to more than $200 depending on you taste in cases.

That way you will have a great computer for the future, very upto date so you won't have to upgrade for a while, and when the time comes its easily upgradeable.

I would go for the Corsair HX520 PSU, if thats too expensive go for an Antec, at least 500w and pay at least $90 for it.

One other thing jaime, do you have a link for a hard drive you would recommend and would this mobo p5n32 fit that rosewill case on newegg...

Hi,

I built my first pc last year using this wonderful web site. I was a little peeved when windows assigned c: to my windows folder, d: and e: to my optical drives, f- i for my partitions. This shouldn't pose any problems for installing and enjoying games should it?

Oh, I am now aware of how to reassign drive letters. I am now more google aware.
