Hello again guys,

As I was measuring up the dimensions of my old PC for a new CPU cooler I discovered that the video card's fan wasn't spinning.

Do you have any ideas to get the fan spinning? I thought it was one of those things where the fan turns itself on when needed. So I tried playing COD2 on high graphics for 10mins and it still didn't work and it was too hot to touch. So I stopped playing immediately.

It's a ATI X800XT video card. I've had it for 4 years...could it have died?

The rest of the computer works (and has been working fine for ages). The other important specifications are:

CPU: Pentium D 3.2Ghz
Mobo: Intel D955XBK
PSU: 430w Generic Brand
2GB RAM (Can't remember what type)

Cheers,
Daniel

Do you think I should replace the fan with a Zalman VF700-Cu?

It is likely it may have died, it is pretty old.

The fan you suggested is pretty good and at $30 is very good on price.

Cool. I've ordered the Zalman along with the CPU Thermaltake fan (in the the post) and an Antec Spotcool for good measure because I really don't like how the Matrox card feeds hot air into my 8800GTS.

WooHoo!

All air inside the computer is hot, the 8800GTS has a massive threshold anyway, but whatever keeps temps down eh.

I prefer water cooling myself :D
