I know it's important, my question is-I have an Emachines T5026. Basically I am taking out the motherboard and CPU and adding a Gigabyte M61SME-S2 Motherboard and AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Processor 3.0GHz, new ram(of course), and a new CPU fan. Now this build from Emachines was for an intel Pentium 4 3.06Ghz with 512mbs of memory, of course I have upgraded. And I believe the power supply is about 300w, I purchased this machine about 2 1/2 years ago, will this power supply be sufficient for what I'm going to add to this machine or due I need to purchase a new one.

Thanks in advance

You need to buy a new one mate.

At least 500w.

Here are some good brands.

Antec
Corsair
Seasonic
Hiper
Tagan
Akasa
Enermax

I was just reading on the newegg.com education section that power supplies are super-important and you shouldn't compromise on quality.
