I just wanted to post the specs of the computer I am going to build. Could someone take a look at let me know if there is anything not compatible/crappy? I don't think I left anything out, except for the keyboard...

Btw...do I need a modem inside my computer to get on the internet? If so, what's a good one?

I also agree 900w power supply seams overkill. I see you choose that because you can make a package deal with the hard drive but seams overkill. I would look at getting something around 600-700w and use the extra money for 3gb of ram and maybe a bigger monitor. Just my suggestions :)

This is one of the best PSU's on earth if not the best.

I wouldn't recommend 3GB of ram, it can cause your system to lag if you are going to be running win XP.

Are you going to be overclocking? if not then you won't need a third party CPU cooler, the E6750 comes with an excellent fan.

What does overclocking mean? I've heard that term before...

Overclocking is when you increase the speed of a component.

Example, 2.0Ghz CPU and then increasing the clock speed of it to 2.5Ghz, hence the term overclocking.

Its risky because the component heats up so you need more powerful coolers.

People often do it with low end CPU's, and then overclock them to the same speed as a much more expensive CPU.

Its not to be taken lightly and i wouldn't recommend it to newbies.

Plus you have chosen a very high end CPU anyway so you won't need to.

And the PSU is the most important component, it needs to be good, you don't want to spend a $1000 on a pc, then buy a crappy PSU and have it fry and take half your system with it.

If that is too expensive, Antec make really decent PSU's for good prices, for your system i would recommend 450w.

Oh, okay. I think I understand. Actually, I remember the power supply (didn't know what that was at the time :p ) going out on my brother's computer a long time ago, and he had to pretty much get a new one. Weak.

Sorry to butt in but what do you think of ultra power supply? I have seen some of your post on psu here and never see ultra in your list. Here is one I'm looking at:

It looks real nice and you only plug in the wires you need which helps with air flow in the case. Plus comes with lifetime warranty as long as you register online. Looks like a good power supply and comes with a free case.
I think sometimes the psu is the hardest part to choose :p

And i don't like it, the modules are very flimsy plastic, so they break easily.

Why should you have to register online just to get the warranty?

The exhaust fan stays on for five minutes after you have turned the computer off to get rid of any hot air still inside the computer.
