View Full Version : What Hard drive would you recommend for IBM Thinkpad 760E w/windows 95OS?
I have an old IBM Thinkpad 760E with a Windows 95 operating system, but the hard drive has been pulled from it. I would like to get it up and going again, but don't know what kind of hard drive to put in it, or even if they are still available. I know the unit works, and I just can't bear to pitch it. If I can get it up and going again, I'd like to upgrade the memory, and possibly upgrade to Windows 98SE. Can anyone help me out? This old thing has the docking station, and all the bells and whistles....just no hard drive :(

Hmm, laptops are notoriously difficult to find parts for. You might be able to get a low-power, 5400 RPM laptop HD that will fit it, but it might be difficult seeing as your laptop is so old.

Not only are they hard to find, they are also very expensive due to the rarity.
But here are a couple of websites to get you on your way....

Hi Jamie and Wise Monkey,
Thanks for the info. I'll try the links you supplied Jamie, and if you happen to come across anything else helpful, I'd appreciate the input.
