Ok I build my own computers basicly it is the only way to go.
I have just recnebtly started using Raid and am totaly lost. here is what i have.
promise fastrack 376 controler built in motherboard
with 2 sata 150 connectors and 1 pata connector. I currently dont have sata drives still using pata hard drives.
I have one in operation on the pata raid inteface setup as striped raid 0
The question I have is there a special cable I need to use a two drive setup
Asus a7v8x MB 1gigram 2 80gig maxtor hard drives same model.
then I have cd writer dvd writer and a storage hard drive 250g that I want to keep on the ata interface non raid.
The two 80gig i want to setup a raid 0 striped setup
I realized when i setup the one 80 gig to the raid connecter hooking up my 250gig to the regular ata caused problems when booting so I disables boot options on the 250gig in bios.
it all works but raid bios not reconizing the second 80gig I think i am using the wrong cable.
