From you're experience, what has been the best paid for anti virus program you have used?

and also, if you have any experience with free anti virus software, which was your favorite?

I'm looking into purchasing one but I'm not sure because there may be some for free that may be just as good..

There's a free one called AVG that I've heard and read great things about. It may be about the best you can do, and yet it's free. I haven't tried it myself. At least not yet. It's on my list!

Used Norton for ages, but its such a system hog.

Also had McAffee, NOD32 and Kaspersky - Kaspersky is probs the best out of them, although it gets in the way a bit.

NOD32 is great - low system usage, good protection.
