I have no experience in assembling hardware of this sort, but im very interested in making my own gaming pc, for around 700-800 total, i know a little about ram and process power, but other than that im clueless. Im not too interested in super high spec 300 fps or anything like that, but i would like it to compete and stay quality for a good five years. Im not looking for blue prints, or anything like that, but i dont know where to start doing research.
Any advice helps, also dont be afraid to say im over my head for that price range.

For a gaming PC to last upwards of 5 years, it may take a larger investment than $800. With that said, you could start out with an $800 PC knowing that you'll need to make upgrades every year or so.

This is sort of what you'd need to start with:
Case $60-$100
PSU $40-$90
CPU $210
Mobo $110-$150
Ram $40-$50
GPU $160
SSD $80-$100

Even on the low-end you're at $700, and this doesn't include mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers/headset, and Windows 10. That's an additional $200.

Hope that helps.
