I have give/take 160 for a motherborad, what should I get for overclocking and overall performance and why would you choose it :)?

Since you specify a 6600K processor, you are looking at a skylake motherboard (z170 chipset). I have been looking at doing a personal build. I have decided on the Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 motherboard, but the cost is not in the range you are looking at (this mobo is around $220).

for the $160 you specified i would look at the Gigabyte Z170XP, or the MSI Z170 Krait Gaming, or the AsRock Z170 Extreme 4, all offer the same level of quality and features for around $140-$150. Choose your favorite brand or go for whichever is on sale.
