Hey guys 'n gals.

So I am building my first PC in May and I have all of my components picked out. What I am looking for is a solid Pc that will play mid tier games like Borderlands 2, Diablo 3 and maybe a few MMO's at mid to high quality.
Here is what I have put together:

Intel Core i5-4430 Processor and MSI B85M-P33 Intel B85 Motherboard Bundle (pretty small mother board but I think it'll do the trick.)

MSI Radeon R9 270 Video Card - 2GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0 (x16), Overclocked - R9 270 GAMING 2G

ADATA XPG V1.0 8GB Desktop Memory - DDR3 1866 MHz, 2 X 4GB, Red - AX3U1866W4G10-DR

WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive - 3.5", SATA 6Gb/s, 7200RPM, 64MB Cache,

Ultra LSP Series V2 650-Watt Power Supply - ATX, 6x SATA, 2x PCI-E, 20/24-PIN, Thermal Controlled,135mm Fan, Single +12V Rail, Short Circuit, Over-Voltage and Thermal Protection

Ultra Gladiator Mid-Tower Case - ATX/MicroATX, 3x 5.25" Bays, 1x 3.5" Bays, 1x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0,

Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

B-ray\dvd burner

A friend of mine mentioned that different brands may not combine well and make for the best performance. Hence the post, I'd like to know what some more experienced builders have to say.

Thanks a butt load.

I think the parts you have in mind look good for your purposes. I’m not aware of any particular problems with these brands working together. Looks like you’ve thought things out pretty well. Let us know how it goes!
