i built my first computer using this site some eight years ago. well it has performed flawlessly until now. made it all the way through college with it.

it is time to upgrade a couple items in it before the components no longer exist. i need some direction though.

my reason for upgrading is my computer will not play videos from my gopro. not talking about editing them yet, just simple playback.

the gopro will go up to 1440p resolutions but mainly 1080p at 30fps is what we are talking.

i assumed it was my graphics card. stopped in my local tiger direct store to buy a new one and the guy told me that wasn't my problem. after i described my hardware he reminded me i had a eight year old computer which i had never thought about. time flies.

so i have a core 2 duo e6600
2GB DDR2 800 ram
geforce 7900 gs graphics card

if i jump to 8gb ddr3 at 1333 speed and snatch up a core 2 quad and keep the same graphics card will this be enough?
thanks.
