Just finished up my second SuperPC(Thanks Rob) using the ASUSP8 Z77-V motherboard, windows 8.1, crucial memory and SSD, Intel Core i5-3570k 3.4GHz, GEFORCE GTX 750TI PCI-E 3.0 video card.

I am guessing that it is a motherboard feature that keeps the power on to the mouse and keyboard (maybe for charging through usb and bringing pc out of hibernation), BUT I would really like to turn this feature off. Is it possible? If so, how? It is not convenient to turn off the PS switch every time I shut it down.

I have tried to change some things in the OS, but had no luck.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks for the good words. Glad I could help.

How do you know the power is still on the keyboard and mouse? Is it because the computer "wakes up" and boots once you touch a key? If so then there are settings in the BIOS under power management that probably control that.

Thanks for the reply Rob. The new PC is very impressive!

I know the power to the mouse and keyboard stays on b/c the lights for each stay on. I looked around in the bios but could not get anywhere. Was hoping that someone has already figured this out! I will try again.

Thanks again,

Chris
