Bluray backup

Is this practical from an expense perspective? I was noticing that a BluRay Burner with 16X write speed is easy enough to find, but not the discs that would allow for 16X write speed. Or am I missing something?

Or would I just be better buying into NAS or USB 3.0 hot swap system, and swap out hard drives for backup. Thoughts?
