I was on the computer and it was fine, then I decided to play a game and while it was loading the whole screen went green lines everywhere than crashed. If I try to restart it gets to the screen where windows would come up and the same thing happens. I can get it to load in safe mode but there are green or pink lines everywhere. I have no clue what to buy to replace it, I built the computer in Feb or March of 2008 with help from this site. I would like to buy a new one from NewEgg if someone could point me to one that would work. This is the info from my build. Thank You!

Hi Min, really sorry to hear about the video card failure.

I will work on it tomorrow for you and I should get a recommendation back to you late tomorrow afternoon.

I was able to pull up a Newegg page for your video card. The Newegg cat # on this page is the following: EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR Does this number match up with the number on your defective card? The reason I am asking is that I want to be sure the correct video plugs on the replacement card match up with your present card.

Yes that is the one, would you know if I can bump up the video RAM when I replace it, 512 is pretty low but what ever you think. Thank you very much!!

You are correct; the RAM should be bumped up to a higher level ! !

I'd be really tempted to go with something like the GTX650 Ti Boost. It's a huge performance boost over the 8800GT.
Here's one I like. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127730

While you're at it, add a couple more GB's of system ram.

or maybe 2 more sticks of the Corsair XMS2 like you already have. Like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145590

I'm all over that video card, :) thank you!! Once again I failed to say I already have 4GB of ram, I added 2GBs to it when I bought the 64bit windows. So I have 4 sticks at 1 GB each stick. I would like to max it out to 8Gbs if you would give me a link for that. I do have that strange motherboard that has 4 slots for DDR2 and 2 slots for DDR3. Thanks again Guys I am very grateful for you guidance!

DDR2 ram prices have gone up a good bit over the past couple of years.
Here's a nice kit that isn't too high.
