I did a bunch of research and tried to pick out decent components for a first timer. Still, I realize that more experienced people are going to have insight that I don't. I welcome all suggestions on getting different components, better components, cheaper components, etc.

I want an all around solid (but not elite) computer - meaning it can do gaming, graphical work, or run a ton of applications at once.

1) MoBo - ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-P8Z77-V-1155-Intel-Motherboard/dp/B007G51UWY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1FM3A8AVRTCZB&coliid=I8OZ63UX2M01O

I never really found that awesome mobo that I knew was the best.

2) Hard Drives:
Boot Drive: Crucial 128 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT128M4SSD2

Storage Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Internal Desktop Hard Drive Bulk/OEM - WD1002FAEX

3) Processor. I can't decide on this one, I've got three options:

If you think I should do AMD I'm willing to hear you out on that too.

4) Video Card. I'm concerned I might need more power here: EVGA GeForce GTX 650 1024MB GDDR5 DVI mHDMI Graphics Card 01G-P4-2650-KR
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-1024MB-Graphics-01G-P4-2650-KR/dp/B00966IU4M/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1FM3A8AVRTCZB&coliid=IX832LDIYSDIX

5) RAM. Can't decide again. My apologies! :o

6) Case. http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Three-Hundred-Gaming-Computer/dp/B000GQMHBI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1FM3A8AVRTCZB&coliid=I2XW1327Z3IFZ9

7) Cooling System? I got this little guy, and I'm not sure if I'll need anything else: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009SJQYNQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

8) Anything Else? I think this is everything I need...

A thousand thanks for any help you can give me!

I don't see a power supply listed. I would suggest a 650 watt psu from a major brand like Corsair, Antec, or SeaSonic.

The middle cpu (i7-3820) will not work with that motherboard. Wrong socket type. The other 2 are both i7-3770, the one with the "k" has an unlocked multiplier for overclocking (if you're into that kind of thing). Both will work fine with that motherboard. However, for your purposes, I would suggest looking at the i5-3570k. It's a better deal while not sacrificing performance, and saves $80.

Use the $80 savings in the cpu to bump up the video card to the GTX660.

Cool. Thank you very much!
