I am still a few months away from my build, and I've come across recurring poor reviews of this card. It is the "power edition", known for it's over clocking ability.

Here are some examples of recurring problems from users:
I noticed this odd shaking or stuttering of all background graphics. I called MSI and they had no answer other than to send it to them to test. I searched for similar issues and found a Diablo III forums with loads of folks with the same issue, MSI denies that anyone has reported such a thing.

According to Tom's, "instead of the 5 volts specified by Richtek, the chip is hit with up to 9.3 volts." NVIDIA is understandably annoyed with MSI.

Card died after about 2-3 weeks. Was running perfectly playing a game on one screen full res while watching a video on the other display, graphics stopped responding,

I don't plan on overclocking, so wouldn't it be safe to go with another GTX 660Ti made by a different company? (ASUS, EVGA, etc.)

I guess it depends on where you read the reviews. I've read several that were extremely positive for the MSI GTX660Ti PE. In fact, most places give it a "Editor's Choice", or some similar designation.
Look at these.

I think these are the first 4 hits from a google search.
