Ok total noob question I'm sure.I have an older model Dell Studio XPS that I plan on gutting. The below is what I am contemplated replacing.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 Quad-Core Processor 3.3 GHz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Superclocked 2048 MB
RAM: Corsair 16 GB Vengeance Blue Low Profile
OS: WINDOWS 7 64 BIT
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155
HARDDRIVE: Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache

The plan is to use this for gaming. the reason for not buying a new case is just to save a few bucks on the case and drives...am I totally of base or will this work.

Why are you replacing all that? It's not totally obsolete hardware. You could just upgrade the video card to maybe a GTX660 or 660 Ti and it should be fine.

Ricky, I think 'the Frog' means the list of hardware he shows is the replacement hardware for the Dell!

His sentence implies the opposite!
The below is what I am contemplated replacing.
