Everything seems to power on well; Mobo LED is lit, all the fans are spinning, I hear the HD whirr...

But from the second I enter POST, I hear the Award BIOS beep code (1 long, 2 short or dash, dot, dot) indicating there is a problem with the video. I've tried switching the vid card between PCIE slots. I've tried clearing the CMOS. I can't even enter the BIOS menu it's so immediate (how can you set the BIOS if you can't even view the screen?). I've checked and rechecked all connections. I'm at a loss. My first build and I'm starting to wish I'd bought that wimpy Gateway at Sam's...

It could be a faulty graphics card - have you got a spare to try?

if its not too late for you, i had that problem and it wound up i didnt have the memory in the right slots. Take out the memory and make sure you have them in the right slots, usually there are 4 slots and you put one in the first slot and then the 3rd slot with your mobo. good luck.
