Hello! I recently purchased a used HP, about a year old, from a friend. I don't have the money to build a brand new rig right now, so I'll be rebuilding this one over time. My question is, can I replace the stock motherboard with a 3rd party one? I know the current board is microATX, and all the connectors seem to be non-proprietary, but I'm not sure.
For reference, the board is a Foxconn 2AB1.
Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the MySuperPC forums.
I've never replaced an OE motherboard from an HP, but there are often proprietary issues with HP and Dell with this kind of process. If you're sure it's a mATX, then I really don't see why an aftermarket replacement wouldn't work. Sorry I can't offer any "first-hand" experience.

Thanks for your reply. Im going to go ahead and order the new board. Worst case scenario, I can buy a cheap case and transfer all the internals.
