I just ran of Prime95 for 26hrs without any error on a new build. It's an E6420 so I ran 2 instances of Prime95 one for each core so I got 100% cpu usage. Anyway, Using Asus PC Probe I got CPU temps ranging from 40c to 47c. Does anyone know if PC probe is giving core temp or just cpu surface temp?

Also, what are the normal cpu temps/core temps when running at 100% cpu usage with Prime95 or the like?

At idle PC Probe says my cpu temp is 23c and the motherboard temp is 21c. The room temp is around 73F.
