I am replacing a dead power supply. The old one had a 20 pin connector one of which was -5v.
The new 550 v power supply has a 24 pin connector and does not have a -5v source.
My mother board is an Abit NF7.

I can use a 24 pin to 20 pin adaptor to connect the new power supply.

Will the computer function ok without the -5v source??

Thanks.

Wally

Take a look at this link to wikipedia, go down to Power Supply to see specs for 'ATX' PSUs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATX

All components within your computer including the case meet the 'ATX' specification. -5 volts in the PSU was removed from the ATX spec some years back!
