Hi everyone. It's been a while since I have posted on here. I relied heavily on your advice for my last computer build completed in June( i3 2100 based). I am looking into building a new system for the kids now to replace their old celeron d based system. I am thinking about maybe going with amd this time ( I like to be different), but want a system that is at least as fast as my i3 system. I am running ubuntu as an os on both computers, so I won't be spending money on windows, and the new box will only be driving 1 monitor and the kids don't play any 3d games so far, so I am hoping to get by with integrated graphics with the ability to upgrade later if neccessary. I am willing to spend up to $500 which is what I spent on my i3 system including monitor.
Thanks for your help
Stan

Hey Stan. Welcome back.

Take a look at the Budget Build link in my signature below. The first build is a "Non-gamer" build that would be perfect for what you're looking for. If you subtract Windows from the list, the total comes to $485.
