This is my first computer build from scratch. I've done some research online and found a parts list that i'd like to get some opinions on.

Case - Cooler Master HAF 912

Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX

CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W

Memory - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

PSU - CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC

Video - EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1461-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s


Does this seem like a good setup or are there any changes you guys would make? Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

It's an excellent build. The only thing you may consider changing is the video card from a GTX560 to a GTX560 Ti.

What are you using your computer for? If it is gaming, I would take a look at the new 560 Ti with 448 cores. For about $60 less than the 570, it closely matches it in benchmarks. If it fits your budget, I would get that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130738

Thanks guys, i'll definitely check out the 560 Ti. The biggest concern i had was compatability between all the parts and the size of the PSU. I figured i'd error on the safe side and choose one that has more than what i'd need instead of one that doesn't have enough power. It also covers me if i want to add or upgrade at any time.

That's a good point. It'll also allow you to SLI down the line (running 2 video cards). Later on down the line, you can throw in another 560 Ti and get the performance of a 580 (just an example). The HAF 912 only comes with 2 fans, so you might want to consider adding some more (I think it has room for 6). It's probably not needed, but depends if you plan to overclock. If that is the case, you may want to add in an aftermarket CPU cooler (like the Hyper 212+).
