Hi,
I have a new build with a TX650M power supply from Corsair. The PC has booted up fine, the BIOS is working OK (it is a gigabyte mobo). However when I push the button on the dvd burner, so I can load up Win7, the door will not open. I tried another dvd burner, same issue. I have only one modular cable to try. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It should have a small hole somewhere on the front of the DVD burner. You can stick a paperclip in there to manually open the drive.

It sounds more like there's a connection issue. There should be a SATA cable connected to it as well as a power cable. Are there any lights that come on?
