I finally found the Gigabyte Intel Core i7/i5/LGA1156/4DDR3-2200/CrossFireX/SLI/2GBE/Raid/SATA3/eSATA/USB3.0/7.1-CH/1394 ATX Motherboard GA-P55A-UD4P, but cannot find the recommended eVGA GeForce 260 Core 216 896MB DDR3 graphics card. Can I use EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Superclocked 1024 MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI Ready Graphics Card instead.

This is my first build and I don't have a clue beyond what I've read in My Super PC.

If you haven't already ordered that motherboard, stop where you are. That P55 is a couple of generations old. You should be considering a P67 or Z68 chipset motherboard.

A couple of generations old? No wonder there was only one out there in the market, and used! I didn't realize the information in the book I just purchased was outdated. Thanks for the specs on your rig and for your quick response.

The book is more about the "process" and less about the "components". Computer parts change and update continuously. It just isn't feasible for Rob to reprint his book for every new generation of pc technology. If you need help putting together a list of parts to build a system, the forum here is the place to be.

Check the sticky in the forum for the recommended builds. They are more updated :)
