Hey all,

I'm beginning my first computer build. I know enough about most computer parts at least to begin. This is the processor I'm looking at getting, for the price it seems to be the best option. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

My question is concerning motherboards, which I don't know much about. How do I know if the motherboard I pick will be compatible with the above processor? If anyone knows a good motherboard on a budget that will be compatible, that works too.

This looks good for the price. I was checking out newegg earlier for motherboards but was overwhelmed so I wasn't clicking any with 4 star reviews. Most of them seemed to have 4 stars though.

Be careful with user reviews. People that have problems will post negative reviews, and people that don't usually wont. I have an ASUS motherboard and they're fantastic. Read some expert reviews to get a better idea. Good luck! Feel free to post your other parts for any feedback :)

I was looking for something with 1 GB memory (to meet the recommended skyrim requirements) so that was my only constraint. If you have a better suggestion as far as the price I'd love to hear it. Video cards seem to be the most expensive piece.

I know it's a lot of money, but a 6950 would be a much better choice, plus put you in a better position to play other games and future games.

Basically it's just raw horsepower, ie stream processors.
