Hi All, I'm looking to assemble my first system and was hoping to get some feedback, mostly to help me overcome the paranoia that I've made a mistake somewhere. The components I've chosen are largely based on the recommended High-End AMD build:

Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216): COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II Advanced Black Steel ATX Mid Tower

Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021):CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W

Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646):ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD

CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727):AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache

RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311):G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

Video Card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161372):HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT2G2M Radeon HD 6950 2GB

Hard Drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533):Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s

Optical Drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204):ASUS 24X DVD Burner

Monitor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824262011):HANNspree By Hanns-G HF225DPB Black 21.5" 5ms

Note that I already have a keyboard/mouse and Windows 7 Enterprise (x64 bit).

My main questions are (in order of concern):

1) Does everything look compatible? Did I miss something?

2) Is any component clearly "overpowered" compared to the others? That is, is there anywhere I could cut costs without losing much performance. Alternatively, are any of the components clearly a weak-link in the chain, and likely to be a performance bottle-neck?

3) If anyone has this processor, have you found the stock cooler to be sufficient? If I want to overclock sometime in the future, is upgrading the cooler a must?

4) Am I locked into using an AMD processor forever, or can the other components be used with an Intel processor and motherboard?

Thank you!

Everything looks great. Very nice setup.

You can currently get 10% off on the Corsair power supply at Newegg by using the Promo Code EMCKAK24. :)

If you plan to overclock, you'll definitely need a better cooler.

As long as you have an AMD motherboard, you're locked into an AMD processor. However, all the other components are completely compatible with Intel if you change out the motherboard and cpu. The only catch would be having to buy another license for Windows. Not a big deal.

What is you current total for that build?
