I am building a new system in order to play some of the newer games. I sorta started backwards and bought an AGP video card (Nvidia Geforce 7800oc) first. I would like to go with an Asus AM2 mobo. Do you have any suggestions for an AGP motherboard.

you will hav a hard time in finding an agp mobo on AM2 platform..all mobos will hav pci16x.

the only mobo i could find with agp 8x is Biostar K8M800. Its the cheapest kid on the block. What ar ur views on Biostar?

I hav seen they make good boards for overclocking...but iam not sure how long the cheap ones last.

Also i hope this board supports X2 EE brisbane cpus.

Gaurav.

Especially for playing newer games, your best best is to go with a motherboard that supports PCI Express video cards. Newer and better video cards will definitely be made for PCI Express, but maybe not for AGP.

I recently came across AGP cards from Ati radeon HD series. i thnk these are the only cards whch are DX 10 and give full support to HDCP in AGP platform.

I hav heard that nvidia is also launching 8x cards from their superior 8x series. hope that soon!
