Hello!

My computer worked perfectly for several weeks. However, when I turned it on this evening, 2 things strange happened:

1. Only got 2 beeps, instead of 3.

2. Boot-up screen says No Hard Disk Found and takes me to a prompt which says

"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key"

I reset the motherboard and removed and re-installed the hard drive, but I still get nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It sounds like the boot order got changed in the BIOS.

The boot order is 1) USB hard drive 2) hard drive 3) ? I don't recal what follows and I am away from the computer.

Do I need to change the order?

Is your OS on a USB hard drive? That could be your problem.

Otherwise, the boot sequence should be 1) Floppy drive, 2) Hard drive, 3) Optical drive.

*edit* If you don't have a floppy drive, then just go HD then OD.
