Hello everyone. I'm looking to get into PC gaming, but obviously I need a PC first. I've always been a Mac kinda guy, but that clearly isn't an option for gaming, so this will be my first build. My biggest concern is compatibility among the parts I've chosen. I'm also unsure as to whether or not I'll need a sound card, and my options as far as outputting the audio. I would love to be able to get both audio and video out through a single hdmi port (since I plan on running this through a receiver to a tv).

So, here we go. Parts below.

AMD Phenom II X6 Six-Core Processor 1090T (3.2GHz) AM3 Black Edition

Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive(7200rpm, 64mb cache, Sata 6gb)

MSI GeForce GTX560 Ti TWIN FROZR II OC 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/Mini HDMI

ASUS Crosshair IV Formula - AM3 - AMD 890FX - DDR3 - Republic of Gamers - ATX Motherboard

Microsoft Windows Home Premium OS (Maybe OS X one day? ;) )

New Black Pioneer® DVR-219LBK SATA DVD±RW Burner Drive

Corsair 8Gb Kit DDR3 1333mhz (2x4Gb)

NZXT Technologies H2 Classic Silent Midtower Chassis CS-NT-H2-W (White)

Corsair VX550W Power supply

Sound card??

I'm also wondering if the NZXT base setup will keep this build cool enough, or if I'll need a couple more fans. Also, is 550W enough power?

I may be new to pc building, but I'm fairly tech savvy, so don't shy away from details!

Welcome to the MySuperPC Forums.

A quick glance at Newegg shows the power supply out of stock. I'm sure you can find one somewhere. It's an excellent psu and 550 watts is plenty.

I don't see any problems with this list. Looks great.
