Just bought a Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM -so it did not come with a cable
Newegg has a lot of different sata cables, I can't figure out which one is best for this drive. And why do some come with power adapters?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SATA drives can usually get their power from a standard 4-pin molex connector straight from the PSU - I'm prety sure WD drives can.
All SATA cables are basically the same, so I don't know what Newegg is trying to do - have you got a link at all?

If you go here http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=1&name=Cables then scroll down on your left under "Type" you will see SATA and SATA II. I guess I'm confused about which cable will utilize my Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822144701
It all seems a little vaugue. Is it a SATA II drive? Is it just plain SATA? Or is it SATA 3.0Gb/s? And which cable is best?
Thanks for the help.

Your motherboard should come with a sata cable mate, and for WM, sata HD's need a special Sata power connecter from the power supply, on most decent psu's they should have a couple, or you can buy the adaptors for next to nothing.

It did come with 1. I need another for a second WD SATA hard drive I'm adding. Got it OEM from newegg so no cables included, not sure if retail would come with one anyway.

Actually Jamie, I've used SATA drives that take the standard 4-pin molex connector. :)
That HD is SATA II, so go for one of those cables.

If your not sure why not just take the one you have in to a local shop and match it up with one if you pick wrong just take it back.
