When I'm installing a fresh copy of Windows XP on a new HDD, should I do the full version or the "quick" one?

I think the difference is that one checks for bad sectors... I'm only hoping that a new HDD wouldn't have bad sectors.

Can I get some advice on this subject? My stuff from newegg is coming in a couple days =)

Thanks!

You should do the full anyway mate, i can't really explain anymore, apart from when i built my first computer (some years ago now  ) i did the quick install and it didn't install properly.

Yeah, an hour isn't much when considering you want your comp to be running at its best.

Good luck with the build :D

A full format checks disk integrity at the same time, so it is always worth doing it for your first install.

If you ever have to re-install Windows, don't bother though. :)

I had to format two 500GB SATA drives in RAID 0 - took about 4 hours on a full format. o_O
